The Region

IVY is cultivated in the prestigious Burgundy region of France. Winemaking in Burgundy was established by Catholic monks the Middle Ages who produced wine for the Dukes of Burgundy. After the French Revolution, the land was divided amongst French residents and Burgundy vineyards have been privately owned since.

Burgundy is characterized by a patchwork landscape with dramatically varying altitudes and has one of the coolest climates of all the French wine regions. The Aegerter vineyards are in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the the main town in the Côte de Nuits area of Burgundy. The vineyard sits on soil that is made up of limestone and marl and are surrounded by luscious rolling hills and beautiful French chateaus, including the Aegerter Mansion.
